What Is Mind/Body Nutrition?

Mind/Body Nutrition is the combination of your thoughts and beliefs, eating rhythm and eating speed, nutritional balance, daily stresses and how all of these facets influence your body in areas such as digestion, nutrient assimilation and your calorie burning potential. Your mind has a direct impact on your physiology and what you think and feel directly affects the digestion of your food!

What Is Dynamic Eating Psychology?

Dynamic Eating Psychology and your "food story" allows you to understand the beliefs and past events that drive your food choices and behaviors today. When you understand this influence on your relationship with food, you can begin to find peace with food and your body. You will discover that food is not your enemy and that we all have a deep and profound connection to food. This relationship often has little to do with food itself and is actually a doorway into your personal life, inner world, or spiritual truth.

For far too long, we've been inundated by negative messages about food, weight and diet.
We've been told that we're willpower weaklings or that we need more control. We've been told that we should eat less and exercise more! The majority of nutrition experts promote conflicting advice. The result is that people are confused about what to eat, and how to have a happy relationship with food and a healthy metabolism.

Your eating challenges are also not your enemy, or a sign that there is something is wrong with you.
Oftentimes, our eating challenges are connected to work, money, relationship, family, intimacy, life stress and so much more. Eating challenges are messages that that can actually help you on your weight loss journey. Eating challenges can become opportunities for growth and self improvement that will lead you to your highest goals not by strategies that punish but through strategies that nourish and empower.

Dynamic Eating Psychology affirms the primary importance of this relationship. It sees our challenges with eating, weight and health not as an indication that we're broken, but as a beautiful opportunity to grow and evolve. Previously, eating psychology has been limited to those with clinical eating disorders but Dynamic Eating Psychology is for everyone, it affirms that our relationship with food has important lessons to teach us if we choose to listen.

Our Body In Balance program was created to help those who are tired of struggling with food and body image issues. It was created for those who truly desire to make lifestyle changes, attain better health and to finally make peace with food and with their body.

Our program helps you to understand the biological effects of the foods you eat and how those choices affect your ability to lose weight and keep it off. The program includes fact based nutritional information, dietary planning and recipes.

You will also learn about the biological effects of stress and how it affects your ability to lose weight and keep it off. You will learn practical steps to help ease stress and live a more relaxed life.

As your Certified Eating Psychology Coach, I know and understand the struggles you are facing because I have travelled down the same road on my own personal weight loss journey.

Together we will formulate strategies that work for you during your journey of learning how to nourish your body and self exploration, a journey that is filled with understanding and compassion. You will learn how to love yourself during the weight loss process, not just at the end of the road!

As your Certified Eating Psychology Coach, I will support you with coaching strategies and also with nutrition principles that are nourishing, doable, sustainable, and that yield results.

My Personal Journey

The only way to have a lasting change on the outside is to have a transformation on the inside! When we realize that our old ways thinking and doing things are not serving us, it becomes an opportunity to "re-write" our story with a different approach...

For years I pushed and forced my body through never ending hospital shift work, stresses of raising a family, running businesses, sickness, loss, grief and personal struggles with overweight and yoyo dieting. I believed if I just ate less and exercised more I could lose weight and keep it off but sadly I was never able to attain my goals which left me feeling like a failure and a "bad person" with no willpower! I finally realized there had to be a better way to live than constant worry and stress over food and intense dislike for my own body. I thought I could only love myself after the weight came off....wrong!

Now, after all these years I have found a freedom I never knew was possible. I have a healthy relationship with food but even more astonishing is the fact that I can say, I truly love my body even with all its sags and wrinkles and years of aging. I now have a deep and profound appreciation and gratitude for my body, for all that it is and all that it does that I did not even consider while I was living in "push and force" mode!

My mission: Coaching women to explore and understand their unique connection to food and body and to gently find their way through compulsions they are struggling with, to experience the fullest expression of who they truly are by using food, body image and weight as the doorway to turning their battle scars into works of art!
